For this project, I want my theme to be revolving around different "aesthetics" in fashion trends you see a lot of online. A lot of the time, these aesthetics are a great way to convey what you like and what your personality is outside of just a good fashion sense, so I think it would be fun to teach others ways that they can express themselves through fashion. I think I want each of my pages to be focused around a niche/unique aesthetic either through a collage of images related to the aesthetic or an illustration of an outfit. I feel that a lot of these outfit aesthetics have specific moods, color schemes, or general tones related to it so it would make for interesting collages (here is an inspiration and example I found through Pinterest).
To make the collages more unique throughout the zine, it would be a good idea to cut the collages into different shapes related to the aesthetic, or maybe overlay an illustration onto the collage.
I also want to have a narrative to my zine, like maybe it follows one character through a journey of finding what clothes speak to them and how they can express themselves through their clothes. Or, it might be good to draw many different characters to show the diversity you can have in any aesthetic. Maybe I can add some comics to show this narrative?

I love Japanese fashion magazines because of the way that they organize outfits on a page; I think I might use this format for some of my zine pages.
Overall, I think I want my zine to be colorful rather than be black and white or a specific color palette.
I want to begin by making collages of aesthetics. In the collages, there will be outfits, settings, objects and words that relate to the aesthetics and they will follow a general color scheme. I think that I will have a mixture of simpler illustrations of outfits and then detailed illustrations of the clothes plus a background (e.g. a library for dark academia). I want to have at least one page where it's a combination of an illustration and a collage.
